Lettuce (Romaine)

lettuce-romaineMake one row down the middle of the 13 inch round container and a row 3 inches away on each side of the middle row for a total of three rows in the container. Make your rows ½ inch deep. Plant seeds about 1/16 inch apart in each row. This is thinner than lettuces because the plant will grow larger. Cover with soil.

You may start harvesting in approximately 28 days or when the leaves are about 1 ½ inches across. Harvest by snapping or cutting the leaves with a scissors about an inch from the soil. Pick the larger, outside leaves first being careful not to cut the growing stem in the middle.
